CueDeck privacy

Introduction

Your content stays yours.

CueDeck is designed to capture and create photos, videos and productions on your iPhone without requiring a CueDeck account or uploading your content to CueDeck servers.

CueDeck does not use advertising or behavioural tracking and does not sell your personal data.

This Privacy Policy explains how CueDeck accesses and handles information when you use the app and how Andrew White trading as Before Anywhere handles information you choose to provide directly to us.

Who we are

CueDeck is operated by Andrew White trading as Before Anywhere.

For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Andrew White trading as Before Anywhere is the controller of personal data that you provide directly to us, such as information contained in a support email.

Camera and video

CueDeck uses your iPhone cameras to provide its photo and video capture features.

Depending on the feature you choose, CueDeck may capture video from more than one camera and preserve multiple views for later editing or export.

Camera previews and captured media are processed on your device.

CueDeck does not upload your camera footage, photographs or videos to CueDeck servers.

Video productions are stored locally within CueDeck's app storage until you delete the production or delete the app.

Microphone and audio

CueDeck can use your iPhone microphone when recording productions that include audio.

Recorded programme audio is stored locally as part of the relevant CueDeck production.

CueDeck does not upload recorded microphone audio to CueDeck servers.

Voice Director and speech recognition

Voice Director lets you control supported CueDeck recording functions using spoken commands.

CueDeck requires Apple's on-device speech recognition for Voice Director. If compatible on-device recognition is unavailable, CueDeck does not fall back to network speech recognition.

Speech audio used for Voice Director is processed on your device and is not uploaded by CueDeck to CueDeck servers.

When CueDeck recognises a supported command, information about that command may be stored locally with the production. This can include the matched command text, timing and recognition confidence. This information allows CueDeck to preserve information associated with the production.

It remains on your device as part of that production and is removed when you delete the production or delete CueDeck, subject to normal iOS storage behaviour.

Photos

CueDeck requests add-only access to your Photos library.

This allows CueDeck to save photos and videos you create or export.

Add-only access does not allow CueDeck to browse or read your existing photo library.

Media saved to your Photos library becomes a separate copy under your control. Deleting a CueDeck production or deleting CueDeck does not delete copies that have already been saved to Photos.

You can manage those copies using the Photos app.

Productions and local storage

CueDeck productions are stored locally on your device.

A production may contain captured video and audio, production settings and metadata needed to preserve and edit the production.

This may include information such as:

• capture mode and source information;
• production dates and duration;
• camera and presentation events;
• recognised Voice Director command information;
• pause and editing information;
• export information;
• your iPhone model identifier and iOS version used to record the production.

CueDeck uses this information to operate, preserve, edit and export the production.

CueDeck does not send this production information to CueDeck servers.

App settings

CueDeck stores certain preferences and app state locally on your device.

These can include settings such as composition-grid preference and whether onboarding, guidance or first-use instructions have been completed.

These preferences are used to remember how CueDeck should behave on your device.

They are not uploaded to CueDeck servers.

Sharing and exporting

CueDeck allows you to choose when to export or share content.

If you choose an iOS sharing option, the content you select may be provided to another app, service or person according to your choice.

Once you share content with another service, that service's own privacy practices apply.

CueDeck does not automatically share your productions with third parties.

Accounts

CueDeck does not require a CueDeck account.

The app does not provide CueDeck account registration, user profiles or Sign in with Apple.

Advertising, analytics and tracking

CueDeck does not contain advertising SDKs.

CueDeck does not use behavioural advertising or cross-app tracking.

CueDeck does not contain third-party analytics or attribution SDKs.

CueDeck does not use Apple's advertising identifier to track you.

Purchases

CueDeck may be purchased through Apple's App Store.

Payments and App Store purchase information are handled by Apple under Apple's own terms and privacy practices.

CueDeck does not receive your payment-card details.

Support and contact

If you contact us voluntarily, for example by emailing:cuedeck@beforeanywhere.com

we will receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message and any attachments or technical information you include.

We use this information to respond to your enquiry, investigate a problem, provide support, protect CueDeck and Before Anywhere where necessary, and improve the product where appropriate.

Our lawful basis for processing support correspondence will normally be our legitimate interests in operating, supporting, securing and improving CueDeck and responding to people who contact us. Where another lawful basis is required by applicable law, we will rely on that basis as appropriate.

Please do not send sensitive personal information or private recordings unless they are genuinely necessary for us to investigate your request.

We do not sell information provided through support.

How long we keep information

Content and production information stored inside CueDeck remains on your device until you delete the relevant production or delete the app, subject to normal iOS storage behaviour.

Copies that you save to your Photos library remain there until you remove them using Photos.

Local CueDeck preferences normally remain until they are changed, reset where an option is available, or the app is deleted.

If you contact us directly, we keep correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry, maintain appropriate support and business records, resolve disputes, protect our legal rights, and meet applicable legal obligations.

Data sharing

CueDeck does not operate advertising, analytics or tracking systems that send your CueDeck productions to us.

We do not sell your personal data.

Information you voluntarily send to us may be processed by service providers we use to operate normal business communications, such as our email provider, where necessary to provide that service.

We may also disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

International users

CueDeck is intended to be available internationally.

Your CueDeck productions are normally processed and stored locally on your device rather than transferred to Before Anywhere.

If you contact us directly, the information you send may be processed using service providers that operate in or process information from other countries.

Where data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer of personal data for which we are responsible, we will use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism.

Your choices and controls

You control CueDeck's access to Camera, Microphone, Photos and Speech Recognition through iOS permissions.

You can change applicable permissions in iPhone Settings.

Some CueDeck features may not work if the permission they require is disabled.

You can delete individual CueDeck productions from within the app.

You can separately delete media previously saved to your Photos library using the Photos app.

You decide whether to use Apple's sharing system to send CueDeck content elsewhere.

Your data protection rights

Depending on where you live and the circumstances, data protection law may give you rights over personal data that Before Anywhere holds about you.

These may include rights to:

• request access to your personal data;
• ask us to correct inaccurate information;
• ask us to delete personal data in certain circumstances;
• restrict certain processing;
• object to certain processing; and
• receive or transfer certain personal data where the right to data portability applies.

Because most CueDeck content is stored only on your device and is not received by Before Anywhere, we may not possess the content you are asking about.

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

Your rights may vary depending on your country and the applicable law.

Children

CueDeck is a general-purpose camera and content-creation application and is not designed to collect personal information from children through accounts, advertising or profiling.

CueDeck does not provide user accounts.

Security

CueDeck is designed so that its productions and media remain primarily on your device.

No method of electronic storage or communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting access to your iPhone, your exported media and any services to which you choose to share CueDeck content.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when CueDeck changes, when our practices change, or when legal or regulatory requirements change.

The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.

If a change materially affects how CueDeck handles personal data, we will take appropriate steps to bring the change to users' attention where required.
